SAVE HISTORIC OLD TOWN: UPDATE
Reporter: Susan Wood
The Save Historic Old Town group has launched a new petition drive to demand that the City Council hold a public hearing!
On May 20th, Councilman Barry Graham, made the motion to deny the petition for a public hearing and directed the City manager to investigate the parking garage matter and send a report. In other words, the Council ignored the thousands of signatures on the petitions turned in at the May 20th City Council meeting and rejected Mayor Borowsky’s effort to put “residents first” and hold a full-blown public hearing! We have updated our website and You can download our new petition at SaveOldTownScottsdale.com and you can send an email to the Council: CityCouncil@ScottsdaleAz.gov
Don’t let them ignore our concerns about building a 3-story concrete parking garage that will ruin Historic Old Town’s charm, desecrate the Historic Old Adobe Mission, displace the Farmers Market, and decimate area businesses like the Mission restaurant, Karsen’s Grill and many more.
